Position Title: Machine Operato

Position Summary

WillowWood Global is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to support manufacturing operations within our Production Team. This role is primarily responsible for operating CNC milling machines and waterjet cutting equipment to produce high-quality prosthetic foot components according to specifications, engineering drawings, and production requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to interpret drawings and work instructions. Experience with CNC machining and/or machine setup is highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset. Waterjet experience is a plus but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Operate CNC milling machines and waterjet cutting equipment safely and efficiently.

- Produce prosthetic foot components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

- Load materials, tooling, and fixtures as required for production.

- Set up machines for production runs, as qualified and assigned.

- Monitor machine performance and identify quality, tooling, or equipment issues.

- Perform inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.

- Verify conformance of completed parts to quality standards and specifications.

- Record production data and complete required documentation accurately.

- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping activities.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

- Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and team members to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.

- Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Minimum of 1-3 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

- Basic understanding of machining principles and mechanical aptitude.

- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

- Basic math and computer skills.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.

- Experience performing CNC machine setup, tooling changes, offsets, and basic program adjustments.

- Familiarity with G-code and CNC programming concepts.

- Experience with Haas or similar CNC equipment.

- Experience operating Omax waterjet systems is a plus.

- Vocational, technical, or trade school training in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field.

Work Environment

- Manufacturing shop environment; clean, climate-controlled facility.

- Exposure to machinery noise, moving equipment, cutting fluids, dust, and vibration.

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.

- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and material handling required throughout the shift.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods throughout the workday.

- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.

- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate machinery, tools, and measuring instruments.

- Ability to visually inspect parts and read measurements accurately.
