Job Title: Design Engineer Job Description
Join a dedicated team supporting ground test wind tunnel infrastructure for missiles and hypersonics. This role involves working on innovative and impactful projects for the US Department of Defense, contributing to the design and development of prototype hardware.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop prototype hardware for missile and hypersonic systems.
- Support ground test wind tunnel infrastructure.
- Collaborate with technicians and machinists to oversee the fabrication of prototypes.
- Participate in cradle-to-grave design, ensuring technical excellence in both component and system-level design.
- Interpret results from FEA analysis tools to inform design.
- Generate Technical Data Packages (TDP).
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Experience designing for manufacturing methods, including milling and turning operations.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with AS9100 process.
- Experience with aerospace hardware.
- Experience with CNC machinery.
- Knowledge of Abaqus FEA software.
- Mechanical aptitude or hobby (e.g., tinkering).
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in Hollywood, with the option to occasionally work from HQ in Huntsville. The role requires collaboration with a team of engineers, technicians, and machinists, with flexible working hours starting between 8:00 and 8:30 AM and ending between 4:30 and 5:00 PM. The environment is dynamic and supportive, with a focus on delivering exceptional products. The team consists of engineers with experience ranging from 3 to 35 years, facilitating knowledge transfer and professional growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hollywood, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
