An  Operations Engineer L1  is a  highly motivated, technically savvy individual  working in a  Network and Security

Operations  Center.  This position will require a proactive engineer who works well in a team environment but can also work independently  to  identify  and resolve issues in our customers’ environments rapidly . In addition to excellent networking and security fundamentals, the candidate should also have experience in a variety of technologies such as switching, routing, and next-generation firewalls.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Contribute directly to Technium’s mission of building and operating exceptional, secure networks.

- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and leadership to deliver reliable results for customers.

- Take initiative:   identify   issues, propose solutions, and follow them through to completion.

- Balance independence with teamwork — knowing when to ask for input and when to move decisively.

- Represent Technium’s values in every interaction: honesty, professionalism, and curiosity.

- Exhibit ownership through a customer-first approach using knowledge and care as key differentiators.

- Follow all Network Operation Engineer policies, processes, and procedures

- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers and team members

- Effectively  utilize   the Technium Tools to gather information on the issue

- Document the issue by creating and accurately completing an Incident Ticket

- Review the applicable Knowledge articles for rapid resolution steps if applicable

- Escalate complex network and security incidents to senior engineers as needed

- Attend regular internal and external training sessions

- Work towards development goals in line with your development plan

- Duties are expected to be performed in normal duty  hours  but there may be events that will occur during non- duty hours, weekends or holidays that may require work to be  accomplished . This role is expected to provide on-call support during non-duty hours when needed.

- This role will be part of our on-call rotation, including some night and weekend work as needed

Schedule & Location Requirements

- This role follows a 4-day workweek schedule , with 10-hour shifts structured as either:

Sunday through Wednesday , or

- Wednesday through Saturday

- Candidates must be available to work one of these fixed schedules, including associated on-call responsibilities

- Preferred candidate locations:

Massachusetts (MA)

- South Carolina (SC)

- Follow EOS and understand success relies on Right Person Right Seat (RPRS) and metrics

- Maintain confidential information

Skills  and  Qualifications

- Technical skills required : Switching, Routing, Next-Generation Firewalls including Cisco, Checkpoint, and

Palo Alto

- Ability to work independently to resolve incidents

- Strong analytical, problem-solving , and conceptual skills

- Ability to monitor , tune , and troubleshoot systems

- Strong customer focus. Must work well with customers of varying levels of technical
expertise in   high-pressure   situations and complex environments

- Ability to adapt to changing business processes, technologies, and environments

- Excellent organizational skills

- Strong desire and ability to quickly learn, become competent in and apply new skills

- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

- Must be proactive and able to work with minimal supervision

- Ability to work on cross-functional teams

- Occasional travel for training and/or conferences
