Position Overview:

A  Service   Project Manager  is responsible for professionally executing project/repair work that is sold to Horwitz Service customers involving plumbing, HVAC and Controls scopes of work.  This role also provides pre-sale estimating support to the sales team to ensure proper scope/cost has been identified for a successful project.   This role  includes day-to-day operations that impact our company profitability and reputation.  This position is aligned with Horwitz’s core values: Safety, Accountability, Professionalism, Motivation, a Can-Do attitude, and Curiosity.

These responsibilities  generally describe  the nature of the position and may not be all inclusive:

- Manage projects that you have estimated as well as projects estimated by others.

- Set up budgets for these projects and manage your materials, equipment,  labor  and subcontractors necessary to complete the project successfully.

- Maintaining professionalism at all levels is extremely important to  Horwitz  and it is the responsibility of the project manager to make sure that this duty is  performed at all times .

- The project manager will review contracts, making sure that all quality control and safety standards necessary to successfully complete  project  are adhered to.

- Prepare and coordinate all required permits, site plans, job safety plans to execute work professionally, safely and per requirements

- Coordinate purchase of materials and equipment.

- Manage labor and subcontractors, creating and  maintaining   accurate  schedule s  for the project.

- Work with the owner  / property management company  to complete project on time and under budget.

- Work with administrative staff to forecast costs accurately  and communicate proactively any foreseen cost overruns

- Provide quality closeout documentation and training while making sure that our customer is satisfied with the outcome of the project .

- Ensure all equipment changes/replacements have been communicated to the Preventative Maintenance Coordinator for updating asset records at the job site

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Education:

- High-level organizational skills

- Proficiency  in MS Excel and Office programs

- Ability to create and  maintain  positive relationships within the industry

- Highly motivated to achieve the goals of Horwitz

- Ability to work well with others both internally and externally

- Willingness to learn new concepts

- Valid driver’s license and transportation to travel to local job sites

- Previous  experience in the mechanical industry

- Mechanical Engineering degree or Construction Management degree a plus
