About this role

What You'll Do

- Manufacture prototype sensors that support new product development initiatives.
- Support engineering builds by fabricating components, collecting and documenting data, providing feedback, and assisting with troubleshooting activities.
- Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
- Work with a combination of established and emerging technologies, including laser processing and coating equipment.
- Accurately document experimental results, manufacturing records, and process data.
- Help manage inventory of materials and components while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Utilize computer systems and tools, including Excel, for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to support prototype development and process improvements.

What We're Looking For

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in manufacturing, laboratory, production, or other hands-on technical environments.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accurate documentation.
- Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills.
- Comfort working with equipment, tools, and manufacturing processes.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience entering or tracking data.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in medical device, biotech, diagnostics, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Chemical handling experience and familiarity with safety protocols.
- Experience working with prototype, pilot, or research and development equipment.
- Familiarity with laboratory documentation and quality system requirements.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
