About this role

POSITION SUMMARY : The Cook II position is designed for team members who have developed foundational culinary skills and can independently operate assigned stations with minimal supervision. This role requires a stronger understanding of cooking techniques, station management, food quality standards, and team support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Independently manage assigned cooking stations during service

- Prepare menu items according to recipe specifications and presentation standards

- Demonstrate consistency in execution, timing, and product quality

- Assist with training and mentoring Cook I team members

- Monitor product levels and communicate shortages proactively

- Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards

- Complete prep production accurately and efficiently

- Assist with banquet production and special events as needed

- Support kitchen leadership in maintaining operational standards

- Communicate effectively with front-of-house and back-of-house team members

Qualifications

- Required Education: High School Diploma

- Work Experience:

- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques and station execution

- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively during service

- Understanding of food temperatures, holding procedures, and sanitation standards

- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

- Ability to work independently with limited supervision

- Performance Expectations:

Demonstrates consistency and reliability during service

- Maintains high food quality and presentation standards

- Supports overall kitchen teamwork and communication

- Takes initiative in maintaining organization and cleanliness

- Displays leadership potential and accountability

- Professional Licenses & Certifications Requirements:

Must successfully pass a knife test

- Must be 18+ years old and be available for all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a drug test and background check for an AZ Gaming License.

- Must adhere to all Cliff Castle Casino Hotel policies and procedures.

- Must be committed to providing exceptional guest service through a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment. Aim to exceed guest expectations with attentive, personalized service and prompt responses and resolution.
