The Role and Responsibilities

EnerMech are looking to recruit a Shipping Logistics Supervisor to be based at our facility in Houston. This is a full time role reporting to the Global Logistics Manager.

You will ensure the compliant and efficient global movement of equipment and goods in alignment with business and project requirements, you will also own and maintain the organization’s trade and customs compliance framework relating to logistics activities and act as the primary accountability point for import/export compliance (EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and related regulations).

Responsibilities

- Oversee end-to-end logistics activities including shipping, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and final delivery.
- Develop, implement, and maintain procedures for import/export compliance across relevant jurisdictions.
- Classify products, components, and equipment using appropriate HTS codes, ECCNs, and other regulatory classifications.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate import/export documentation, licenses, declarations, and audit records.
- Monitor changes in international trade regulations and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.
- Act as the main liaison with customs authorities, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
- Investigate and resolve customs delays, disputes, or compliance issues in a timely manner.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with logistics service providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable performance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving trade initiatives, including Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and duty optimization opportunities.
- Assess and mitigate logistics and compliance risks that could impact cost, schedule, or legal exposure.
- Work closely with Procurement, Projects, Operations, Legal, and HSE teams to align logistics planning with business needs.
- Provide guidance and practical support to internal teams on import/export requirements and best practices.
- Design and deliver training on trade compliance, documentation, and logistics processes to relevant personnel.
- Maintain records and prepare reports to support internal audits and regulatory reviews.
- Drive process improvements and digital solutions to improve visibility, efficiency, and compliance across logistics operations.
