Hourly Non-Exempt Position

Responsibilities
- Operating equipment – Operate pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and other machinery to control the flow of materials and regulate processes.
- Monitoring Processes – Continuously monitor meters, gauges, and other instruments to track and adjust temperature, pressure, flow rates, levels, density, conductivity, and other critical parameters.
- Ensuring Safety – Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and responding to emergencies.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving – Identify and address potential issues or malfunctions in equipment or processes, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Maintaining Records – Keep detailed records of operations, readings, and any incidents or problems encountered.
- Teamwork and Communication – Work collaboratively with other refinery personnel, communicating effectively and following instructions from supervisors.
- Housekeeping – Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the plant.
- Reports to the lead controller as a B operator.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required.
- Associate degree – An associates degree in process technology is desired but not required.
- 2 years of experience will be weighed in lieu of a degree.

- Technical Skills – Strong understanding of the process, equipment, instrumentation, and use of computer operating systems.

Working Conditions
- Often 40+ hours per week, with potential for weekends, nights, and on-call rotation.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy objects.
- The environment is often noisy and not temperature-controlled.
- Required daily use of personal protective equipment like safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and earplugs.
