MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
High School diploma or equivalent - AND- t wo (2) years' of clerical experience - AND- t wo (2) years' laboratory experience. Lab experience in bacteriological water testing, including coliform and fecal coliform preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
JOB SUMMARY : Performs responsible and varied clerical and selected laboratory duties including verification of complete sample requisitions for laboratory tests (i.e., coliform and fecal coliforms water testing); work is performed at the Health Department under supervision. Performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS :
- Utilizes various office and laboratory equipment;
- Provides clients with assistance in completing forms and understanding information;
- Reviews and maintains environmental health and laboratory records;
- Prepares environmental health samples and information for laboratory testing and reports findings daily to appropriate environmental health staff;
- Performs laboratory screening on samples;
- Works with environmental staff regarding all programs;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
