About this role

Job Purpose

ADVANCES RAWHIDE'S MISSION by developing and executing a comprehensive grants and foundation relations strategy that grows philanthropic revenue, strengthens relationships with institutional funders, and connects funding opportunities to Rawhide's strategic priorities and programs.

Essential Functions

- Writes, prepares, and manages grant proposals.

- Oversees grants strategy and data collection.

- Cultivates and grows relationships with grant funders.

- Ensures communication and collaboration on grants across organizational departments.

Job Responsibilities

Drives grants and foundation fundraising strategy

- by developing and executing an annual grants strategy exceeding $1 million annually aligned with organizational priorities and revenue goals; building and managing a robust pipeline of foundation, corporate, government, and other institutional funding opportunities; identifying opportunities for growth and diversification.

Develops compelling funding proposals

- by leading the development of high-quality letters of inquiry, grant proposals, applications, reports, and other funder communications; translating Rawhide's programs, outcomes, and impact into compelling cases for support.

Builds and stewards funder relationships

- by developing meaningful relationships with current and prospective funders through intentional communication, meetings, site visits, stewardship, and ongoing engagement; serving as a primary point of contact for foundation and institutional partners.

Leads grants management and accountability

- by maintaining an effective grants calendar and tracking system; ensuring deadlines, reporting requirements, documentation, restrictions, and funder commitments are consistently met; monitoring grant performance and pipeline.

Partners across Rawhide

- by working closely with program, finance, marketing, data, and executive leadership to identify funding priorities, gather compelling impact information, develop budgets, and ensure accurate reporting.

Contributes to development strategy

- by participating as an active member of the Development team; contributing to revenue forecasting, donor strategy, campaign planning, and broader fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

- Education requirement not specified.

- 3 to 5 years of grant writing experience.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people from a range of backgrounds.

- Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to problem-solve, and willingness to develop systems to address recurring needs and/or challenges.

- Ability to assist in creating a unified, accountable, and top-performing Development team.

- Ability to manage and develop strong donor relationships.

- Comfortable with technology or willingness to learn new software.
