Facility Custodian Job Description

The Facility Custodian ensures that the Wasilla Campus is a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for people to engage in COTR ministries. The Facility Custodian is a crucial part of making ministry happen and may also develop and disciple a serve team to help reset the facility after groups, special events, or during PTO. This is a part-time hourly position that reports directly to the Executive Pastor.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring Clean Facilities (See attached Campus-Specific Checklist)

- Facilities should be cleaned thoroughly before Sunday services and after for weekly ministry groups utilizing campus space.

- Main building and outbuildings should be properly reset after all weekly ministries & groups in preparation for Sunday services.

- Use facility calendar and work with Campus Admin to plan for special events such as ECHO Missions Conference when more frequent cleaning may be necessary.

- Report facility damage to your manager.

Inventory Management

- Budget annually for all necessary supplies and equipment.

- Order supplies and organize utility closets.

Serve Team Development

- Recruit and manage volunteers for cleaning serve team.

- Ensure all serve team members have completed Ascent and Reducing the Risk.

- Properly train, schedule, and communicate with serve team members.

- Disciples serve team members and provide a relational bridge between them and campus staff.

- Function in a manner worthy of your calling as a minister of the Gospel

- Act with integrity in all public and private dealings on behalf of Church on the Rock (COTR) or otherwise

- Care for Serve Team members in a respectful and Christ-like manner

- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats

- Develop leaders and provide leadership in areas of responsibility

- Be discreet and discerning regarding sensitive information to which you may be privy

- Protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality and accountability

- Work collaboratively across departments and campuses

- Manage additional responsibilities as assigned and/or agreed upon

- Uphold a strong personal commitment to the mission and values of Church on the Rock

Qualifications

- A born-again believer, baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit, and living under the lordship of Jesus Christ

- Proficiency with or willing to learn tools and platforms such as Church Community Builder (U-Link)

- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

- Current screening form and background check on file
