The Opportunity
August Jackson is looking for a talented, thoughtful Senior Designer to join our creative team on a contract basis.
We create live experiences that bring brands, ideas and stories to life —from large-scale corporate events and conferences to immersive environments, brand activations and everything that surrounds them. Our work lives across stages, screens, physical spaces, presentations, digital touchpoints and the many moments that come together to create a cohesive experience.
We're looking for someone who loves both concept and craft —a multidisciplinary designer who can help turn an early idea into a compelling visual system and carry that thinking through to polished, production-ready execution.
This is a hands-on Senior Designer role for someone with strong visual instincts, excellent craft, and the confidence to contribute ideas — not simply execute them.

What You'll Do
- Develop thoughtful, concept-driven design solutions that bring ideas, stories and brands to life across live experiences and supporting touchpoints.
- Partner closely with Art Directors and other creative team members to explore concepts, establish visual direction and build cohesive design systems.
- Design across a wide range of applications, including live events, experiential and environmental graphics, PowerPoint and Keynote presentations, digital content, brand activations, campaigns, pitches and other creative touchpoints.
- Translate visual systems across different scales and formats—from a presentation or screen to signage, environmental graphics and large-scale event applications.
- Take ownership of assigned work from early exploration through final execution, maintaining a high level of craft throughout the process.
- Bring exceptional attention to typography, layout, hierarchy, color, composition, imagery and overall visual storytelling.
- Contribute meaningful ideas during brainstorms, concept development and creative reviews — and be comfortable pushing beyond the first solution.
- Present your work and articulate the thinking behind your design decisions clearly and confidently.
- Collaborate with our Creative, Production, and Account Lead partners to ensure ideas translate successfully into the final experience.
- Prepare organized, accurate and production-ready files while partnering with production teams and vendors to maintain design intent through execution.
- Look beyond individual deliverables to understand how your work contributes to the larger visual system, story and client experience.
- Stay curious about evolving design practices, technology and emerging creative tools, including new ways AI can support exploration, ideation and creative workflows.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of professional design experience , with the ability to work independently at a senior level while collaborating closely with Art Directors and creative leadership.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design, conceptual thinking and attention to craft.
- Expert command of typography, layout, composition, hierarchy, color and image-making.
- Experience developing visual systems and extending an idea consistently across multiple formats and touchpoints.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and comfort working across contemporary design and presentation tools.
- Strong production knowledge and an understanding of how creative work moves from concept to final execution.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and communicate proactively when needs or challenges arise.
- Confidence receiving feedback, asking thoughtful questions and using critique to make the work stronger.
- Strong creative judgment — you know how to push an idea independently, and you know when collaboration will make it better.
- Curiosity and a willingness to experiment, learn new tools, and continue evolving your craft.
Experience designing for live events, experiential environments or large-scale applications is a bonus, but not a requirement. We're equally interested in exceptional designers from brand, agency and multidisciplinary backgrounds who are excited by the opportunity to see their work extend into physical spaces and live experiences.
Experience with environmental graphics, motion, Figma, presentation design and/or AI-assisted creative workflows is also a plus.

What We'd Love to See
A portfolio is required for consideration.
We're especially interested in seeing work that demonstrates strong typography and layout, sophisticated visual systems, conceptual thinking and the ability to translate an idea across multiple applications.
Experiential, environmental, event, brand and multidisciplinary work is especially relevant to what we do—but great design is great design , and we're interested in seeing how you think regardless of the medium.
We'd rather see a handful of exceptional projects that demonstrate how you think than dozens of polished deliverables without context. If possible, show us both the final work and the thinking that got you there.
