Kitchen Commis - Riyadh Season

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Contract: 6 months, fixed-term, starting October, with option to renew for a longer duration at an increased salary after the season concludes

About the Role
A well-established F&B group operating multiple dining concepts in Riyadh is hiring Commis 1 and Commis 2 line cooks to join its kitchen teams for the upcoming Riyadh Season. These are hands-on kitchen positions within fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environments, with openings suited to both cooks with a couple of years of line experience (Commis 1) and those earlier in their culinary career (Commis 2).

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items to the required standard and consistency, under the direction of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef

- Set up and break down stations, ensuring mise en place is complete before service

- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards throughout the shift

- Follow recipes and plating guides precisely to maintain menu consistency

- Assist with stock rotation, storage, and basic inventory checks

- Support station setup and breakdown before and after service, and assist with receiving deliveries as directed

- Communicate clearly with the wider kitchen team during service and take direction well

- More experienced candidates (Commis 1) may also support and guide junior kitchen staff

Requirements

- Commis 1: minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Commis or line cook in a hotel, restaurant, or similar high-volume F&B environment

- Commis 2: some prior kitchen experience preferred (internship, apprenticeship, or entry-level line cook experience); candidates with strong culinary training and limited experience will also be considered

- Culinary certificate or diploma preferred but not mandatory with sufficient hands-on experience

- Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen equipment and food safety practices

- Ability to work under pressure during peak service hours

- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a willingness to learn
