Avegen is a digital health company that helps pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations build, launch, and scale digital health products. Founded in 2015, Avegen runs HealthMachine, its patient management platform, and has shipped 20+ solutions across 12+ therapeutic areas, live in 14 countries. Avegen is building a new product line from the ground up to improve the efficiency of clinical trials.
## The Role
We're hiring the expertise backbone of Avegen's clinical trials product line: someone who has actually run clinical trials and can bring that reality directly into the build. You'll define what's true about how trials work today and use product knowledge to turn that truth into something the engineering team can act on.
This role covers Phase II - IV clinical trials, across therapeutic areas. You should have operated at that level of trial complexity.
What You'll Do
- Document the operational reality of trial conduct across sites, CROs, and sponsors: identify manual processes, regulatory constraints, and the points of failure that are material costs to sponsors and CROs.
- Translate that knowledge into product input: shape the roadmap and write requirements the engineering team can build directly from.
- Review every feature against GCP and regulatory requirements before it reaches development.
- Source and secure real pilot signals yourself: bring in material site or sponsor commitments that give the roadmap operational proof, beyond validation conversations. This will be supported by the product team.
- Work directly with engineering to anchor every spec in clinical trial operational realities.
## What You'll Bring
Required:
- 4-7 years of direct, hands-on clinical trial operations experience: as a Clinical Research Associate, Clinical Trial Manager, Site Operations Lead, or in a CRO or sponsor-side delivery role, at Phase II–IV.
- Deep working knowledge of GCP and the regulatory frameworks clinical trials run under: ICH-GCP, and FDA and/or MHRA.
- Can write requirements an engineering team can build directly from and has run or co-run sprint planning cycles. We treat this as a requirement that amplifies your domain depth, not a nice-to-have.
- Experience building process and structure from the ground up, on a small team.
Nice to have:
- Experience sourcing or closing partnerships, pilots, or commercial commitments with sites, sponsors, or CROs.
- Broader product exposure beyond requirements writing: prioritisation calls, trade-off discussions, roadmap ownership.
