Job Title: Regional Lead - Hiscox Underwriting Solutions Team (UST)

Location: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Manhattan, Scottsdale, West Hartford (Hybrid)

Job Description:

Hiscox is seeking a Regional Lead to guide a team of underwriters and manage relationships with regional brokers within our Underwriting Solutions Team.

This role carries responsibility for the underwriting quality and profitability of a regional book of business, applying advanced underwriting authority while overseeing and developing a team of underwriters.

In this role you will bring strong leadership and underwriting judgment, demonstrated through active engagement with brokers, underwriters, and key stakeholders across the US offices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Underwrites, prices, and negotiates accounts consistent with the quality of the risk and according to the company’s strategies and guidelines for the product lines.
- Identifies underperforming brokers and renewal books and engages the team and key stakeholders to drive improvements.
- Builds collaborative relationships with underwriters across the US offices.
- Achieves production targets and underwrites business profitably.
- Functions as an escalation point for both personnel and underwriting-related concerns and provides day-to-day coaching and development to team members.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

- Expertise in leading, motivating, and developing a team of underwriters to achieve business results.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Advanced risk assessment, business needs assessment, and pricing knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of broker performance variables and the ability to respond effectively.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills.

Salary Range: $115-$140k

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment

**Please note that this position is hybrid and requires two (2) days in our office weekly**

About Hiscox USA:

Hiscox USA underwrites small- to mid-market commercial risks through brokers, other insurers and distribution partners and directly to businesses. In 2026, gross written premiums for the segment will represent over $1bn. Circa 50% of the portfolio comprises small commercial business sold either online or through intermediaries, and the remaining 50% represents traditionally traded business intermediated through broking partners including Professions, Crisis Management and Specialist lines such as Media & Entertainment. Hiscox USA has built the digital business since 2010 through ongoing investment in the brand, technology and operational capabilities. The business has pursued an omni-channel approach since inception, and so are less constrained by the channel conflict which affects some competitors.
