About this role

The Financial Accounting Manager is a key role in the accounting organization. This role is responsible for month end close, analyzing profit and loss accounts, leading and coaching a team, and improving processes across the accounting department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS

· Month end Close responsibilities

o Calculate and post and/or review journals related to:

§ Revenue

§ Recurring Expenses

§ Accounts Payable

§ Accounts Receivable

o Collaborate with Finance to prepare monthly allocations for cross-utilized contracts

o Collaborate with Operations, Finance, IT, Fixed Assets, and Accounts Payable teams to align and control transaction coding

· Analyze Profit & Loss Accounts for missing items and for unusual activity

o Perform monthly reviews of key/volatile expense accounts that lead to timely reclassifications, accruals, and/or Pass-Through Billing

o Complete Ad hoc projects to help enhance Financial Reporting integrity

· Develop and coach off-shore team of 5-6 people

· Develop documented and efficient processes and controls

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

- 4+ years of financial management/accounting experience
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (Masters is a plus)
- Exceptional high technical skills with a required proficiency in excel and PowerPoint
- Strong communicator
- Hands-on experience with financial and statistical software
- Expertise in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas)
- Familiarity with databases, SQL, and advanced modeling
- Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts
- Familiarity with PowerBi is a plus
- Relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus
