About this role

Job Summary: As a Logistics Technician for a utility-scale solar electrical subcontractor, you will support the logistics operations by ensuring the efficient movement and management of materials, equipment, and supplies. You will work closely with the logistics manager and other team members to facilitate smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and storing materials and equipment.

- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks.

- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

- Support the setup and maintenance of laydown areas, ensuring materials are organized  and accessible.

- Assist in coordinating the delivery and distribution of materials to various project sites.

- Maintain detailed records of logistics activities, including delivery schedules and inventory  levels.

- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.

- Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking across uneven terrain.

- Climbing: Climbing ladders and scaffolding to access different parts of the installation.

- Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to install and inspect components.

- Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling tools and small components.

- Weather Conditions: Working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.

- Safety Gear: Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in logistics or a related field, preferably in solar or electrical construction, preferably a minimum of 3 years.

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to operate material handling equipment.

- Experience with logistics software programs.

- Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, forklift, skid steer and other equipment.
