About the Role
CMiT is seeking a highly motivated Senior Backend Developer (AWS) to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that support critical federal missions.
The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with deep experience in modern JavaScript technologies, AWS cloud services, and backend application development. You will play a key role in building secure, high-performing solutions while contributing to an agile and collaborative development environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience with Node.js
- Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience with React
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
AWS Lambda
- DynamoDB
- Amazon S3
- EventBridge
- Kinesis
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with AWS cloud tools and services
- Minimum 1 year of experience writing SQL and working with relational databases
- Strong understanding of complex business processes and the systems that support them
- Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Passion for solving complex software challenges and delivering high-quality solutions
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Clearance Requirement
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Preference will be given to candidates with an active or recent ICE or CBP clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing Single Page Applications (SPA)
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools, including:
Git
- Jenkins
- CloudBees
- React Testing Library
- Jest
- Experience working with both relational databases and DynamoDB
- Experience supporting federal government IT programs
