JOB SUMMARY:

Perform logistics functions that may include reviewing, preparing and routing shipments, coordinating drivers, work crews, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to schedules or customer requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Excellent communication skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software

- Excellent clerical and organization skills to keep track of schedules, routes and personnel

- Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties

- Ability to multitask with different events happening at the same time

- Ability to work under stress and remain calm

- Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for calculating routes and times of deliveries and making the necessary adjustments for sales and customers

- Establish delivery routes which are cost effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines while still maintaining an acceptable level of customer service, quality and satisfaction

- Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments

- Scheduling and dispatching drivers, work crews, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to schedules

- Relaying information such as work orders or other messages to and from work crews or supervisors

- Using telephones, two-way radios or outlook email to contact employees

- Speaking with supervisor or customers to resolve problems, requests for services or equipment

- Preparing daily work such as schedules

- Preparing work orders for crew or receiving work orders from work crews

- Being in charge of communications within company assigned territories

- Keeping and organizing work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, inventory records and other information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Position works primarily in a warehouse environment

- Constant telephone activity; must have a high comfort level of initiating conversation

- Moderate noise levels

- Occupation requires being sedentary greater than or equal to 80% of the time

- Work involves sitting, standing, hearing, talking, handling, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder, walking, squatting or kneeling, bending

- Regularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions
