SAP HCM Time Management Consultant

Key Responsibilities: Configure and support SAP HCM Time Management processes, including time schemas, Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs), time evaluation rules, functions, and operations. Design, configure, and maintain absence and attendance management, including absence types, attendance types, leave quotas, accruals, validations, counting rules, and related time-management requirements. Configure complex Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual, entitlement, carry-forward, proration, and expiration rules based on business requirements, employee eligibility, and local regulations. Configure and support overtime and premium time rules, including complex calculations based on employee groups, work schedules, thresholds, and applicable labor agreements. Troubleshoot and resolve time evaluation and time-related issues that impact payroll, performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions. Validate the end-to-end time-to-payroll integration, ensuring evaluated time, wage types, absences, overtime, and other time-related results are correctly transferred to payroll. Investigate discrepancies between time evaluation results and payroll results and perform appropriate time data corrections, recalculations, and retroactive processing. Support time data corrections and retro processes while ensuring data integrity and minimizing payroll impacts. Support integration of SAP Time Management with upstream and downstream HR, payroll, workforce management, and third-party systems. Monitor and troubleshoot time-management interfaces, data transfers, mapping issues, and integration failures in collaboration with technical and integration teams. Participate in unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, and release validation for Time Management changes and enhancements. Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective SAP Time Management configuration and technical/functional solutions. Ensure time-management configuration and processes comply with country-specific labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, company policies, and statutory requirements. Collaborate with HR, Payroll, HR Operations, business stakeholders, integration teams, and technical teams to resolve issues and deliver enhancements. Maintain clear documentation of configuration, time schemas, PCRs, business rules, integration processes, test scenarios, and solution designs. Proactively identify opportunities to improve time-management processes, reduce recurring issues, and increase automation and data accuracy. Must-Have Skills: Strong hands-on expertise in SAP HCM Time Management, including time schemas, PCRs, time evaluation, time functions, and operations. Deep understanding of Time Evaluation configuration and processing, including schema design, rule processing, and troubleshooting of evaluation results. Strong knowledge of absence and attendance configuration, including absence/attendance types, counting rules, quotas, accruals, validations, and eligibility rules. Proven experience configuring complex PTO/leave accrual rules, including proration, carry-forward, eligibility, expiration, and service-based entitlement rules. Proven experience configuring and supporting complex overtime and premium-time rules, including thresholds, eligibility, work schedules, and labor-agreement requirements. Strong understanding of SAP Time Management and Payroll integration, including the flow and validation of evaluated time data and time wage types into payroll. Experience troubleshooting time evaluation, payroll integration, interface, and data-related issues using strong analytical and debugging skills. Experience with time data corrections, recalculation, retroactive processing, and payroll-impact analysis. Strong understanding of integration between SAP Time Management and upstream/downstream HR, payroll, workforce management, and third-party systems. Experience supporting testing and release cycles, including UT, SIT, UAT, regression testing, and production validation. Strong knowledge of country-specific labor legislation, collective bargaining agreements, and payroll/time-management compliance requirements across multiple countries. Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and gap-analysis capabilities. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical documentation skills. Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Management (EC Time) and hybrid Time Management models. Experience integrating SAP HCM Time Management with EC Time, third-party time systems, and workforce management solutions. Knowledge of SAP Integration Suite/CPI, SAP PI/PO, or BTP for Time Management integrations. Knowledge of API-based integrations, web services, and interface monitoring/troubleshooting. Experience with time, attendance, absence, overtime, and payroll reporting/analytics. Experience supporting multi-country SAP Time Management implementations with complex local requirements. Exposure to SAP S/4HANA HCM, H4S4, or SAP Payroll. Experience with third-party workforce/time-management systems integrated with SAP. Knowledge of automation and process improvement opportunities within Time Management. Experience supporting labor agreement/collective bargaining agreement requirements in SAP Time Management.
