Treasury Intern

Internship Period:   11 Jan uary   2027 – 30 Jun e   2027

Job Description :

This role will   provide   an   opportunity to experience working in the Treasury function within the MUFG Global Markets Business.

With a focus on Interest Rates Risk Management, Asset and Liability Management, Liquidity Management and Funding Activities, the candidate will have an opportunity to understand the workings of money markets and how the bank executes and manages its banking book positions.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to senior members of the Markets and Treasury business and garner insights into balance sheet composition optimization, funding,   liquidity,   and cash product rate dynamics.

The candidate will also be expected to offer insights and conduct projects related to:

- Gain overview and understanding of functions in Treasury Department – Understand and provide supporting role in business activities. Candidate will also be able to gain exposure in managing various stakeholders.

- P&L reporting – Understand treasury P&L mechanism. Gather and report P&L from branches. Deep dive on PL contribution factors and understand more on branches' PL. Enhance P&L reporting dashboard . Standardize P&L calculation   methodology   across the region.

- Interest Rate Risk Control Enhancement   –   Understand interest rate risk control concept. Help to gather interest rate sensitivity data. Enhance tableau dashboard with regional interest rate sensitivity data.   Build market indicators dashboard,   build   investment dashboard to compare   funding cost and yield in various currencies to find best opportunities.

- Data Analytics and Visualization – Gather balance sheet management related data from various systems, build automated process for data analytics and visualization using Tableau.

- Deposit   A nalysis –   Core deposit modelling –   continue   to study APAC deposit portfolio and build model on core deposit identification (with less than 5Y’s of data).   Analyse and monitor deposit portfolio.   Identify   areas of improvement on pricing, balance, etc to   optimize   deposit portfolio under rate cut cycle.

- FTP   S tandardization – Summarize and clarify FTP methodologies including base rate and LP for each branch. Provide support for FTP standardization.

- Benchmark   A nalysis   –   To gather information about competitors   regarding   balance sheet, make comparison among competitors, propose recommendations to   optimize   balance sheet.

- Any other miscellaneous tasks related to balance sheet optimization.

Job Requirement s:

- Undergraduates from Business/Finance/Economics are preferred but will consider any current university students for the role

- A “can do” attitude and an outgoing personality

- Ability to learn on the job and   pick-up   concepts quickly

- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and is pro-active

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel

- Good with numbers , programming skills   and report writing skills

- Organisational skills

- Working hours for   T reasury is from 08:30 am – 06:00 pm

This internship role is based in Singapore. It is open to Singaporean and PR students only.
