About the Role
The Branch Manager at IDFC FIRST Bank is a leadership role within the Retail Banking division, responsible for managing the overall operations, performance, and customer experience of the branch. The role focuses on driving business growth, ensuring regulatory compliance , and delivering exceptional service. The Branch Manager will lead a team of banking professionals, foster a high-performance culture, and collaborate across departments to achieve strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee daily branch operations including customer service, sales, and staff management.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve branch targets and business goals.
- Monitor branch performance metrics and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Achieve overall product targets for the branch including CASA, Term Deposits, Investments, Insurance, Trade Services, Retail Assets & Business Banking products
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while promoting bank products and services.
- Lead, coach, and motivate branch staff to meet individual and team performance goals.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a low attrition rate within the branch
- Ensure hiring is aligned as per the manpower budgets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience and drive growth.
- Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports on branch activities and performance to senior management.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
- Contribute to local marketing and outreach efforts to increase brand visibility and customer acquisition.
What We Are Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MBA) are preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail banking.
- At least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role within a banking environment.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and operations.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Orientation and ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Thorough understanding of banking regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking software .
- Flexibility to work extended hours and travel as required.
- Fluent in English with strong business communication skills
