About this role
Infor is building a new Data Fabric capability combining a canonical data model (bridging structural data gaps across Infor ERPs) with an ontology layer (built on Apache Jena and SPARQL) that elevates that data into unified business intelligence.
As a Software Engineer, you will join a structured four-level ramp program to build ontology and canonical modeling skills alongside your existing Java/Spring strengths, and will implement canonical mappings and SPARQL-based components under the guidance of Senior Software Engineers and the Team Leader.
A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
- Complete the team's structured learning program (Basic → Intermediate → Advanced) covering RDF/OWL/SPARQL, Apache Jena, and canonical data modeling.
- Implement canonical data mappings between ERP source schemas and the shared canonical model under senior guidance.
- Write and test SPARQL queries and contribute to ontology classes/properties per designs set by Senior Software Engineers.
- Write unit and integration tests for canonical mapping and ontology code.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from Senior Software Engineers and the Team Leader.
- Document mapping decisions and contribute to the team's canonical/ontology knowledge base.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of software engineering experience.
- Hands-on Java development experience, preferably with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Willingness and aptitude to learn semantic web technologies (RDF/OWL/SPARQL) and canonical data modeling — no prior experience required.
- Basic exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or equivalent).
- Good written communication for documenting mapping and design decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Any prior exposure to data integration, ETL, or master data projects.
- Coursework or personal projects involving graph databases, knowledge graphs, or Prolog/logic programming.
- Familiarity with Git-based collaborative development workflows.
