About this role

Senior Bookkeeper - Nonexempt Staff; Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday

Under the direction of the Controller, the Senior Bookkeeper will maintain financial records, including the accounts payable and receivable, and payroll for employees and outside contractors.

Requirements:

QuickBooks and Payroll experience a must.  Must be professional, punctual and responsible, and handle confidential data discreetly.  Must present clean PA Criminal background check, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal Record Check.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS :

Makes effective use of their energies, resources and talents in promoting the objectives, values and vision of the organization.

- Helps coordinate and disseminate information;

- Works with supervisor in establishing and implementing agency priorities, goals and strategies;

- Helps facilitate and foster effective and supportive relationships between individuals receiving services and The Arc Alliance and its affiliated agencies;

- Maintains chart of accounts, vendor records, customer records and basis employee information in computerized Accounting system;

- Process and pay all invoices/bills;

- Process financial reports and statements, accounts payable, aging payables;

- Prepare monthly reports, as needed;

- Perform bank reconciliations for Guardianship accounts

- Process payroll and review timesheets and payroll changes

- Maintain employee attendance and vacation, holidays, personal and sick time records;

- Track outstanding invoices and resolve for payment;

- Support audit and fiscal reviews

- Filing;

- Participate/contribute in agency fundraising events;

- Must be able to lift bankers boxes (30 pounds);

- Perform other duties as assigned;

- Prepare payroll change memo for employees and contracts, track timesheets

Qualifications

Five or more years of current bookkeeping experience, including one year payroll experience; strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; proficiency generating reports using Excel; experience using accounting and payroll software; excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort with being a “team player.”  Paycom experience a plus.
