Controller (Temp-to-Hire)
Remote | Target Compensation Around $175K | Immediate Need
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnering with a private equity-backed technology company to identify a Controller for an immediate temp-to-hire opportunity. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers the opportunity to lead the accounting function for a growing organization with approximately $18 million in revenue and significant expansion plans.
This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on finance leader who enjoys operating in a lean environment, partnering with executive leadership, and driving process improvements that support long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll oversight, and month-end close
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, board presentations, lender compliance reporting, and private equity reporting packages
- Manage revenue tracking, commission calculations, and financial analysis
- Oversee professional services billing activities
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and internal controls
- Partner with leadership to improve close-cycle efficiency and support strategic decision-making
- Drive automation initiatives and reduce reliance on manual spreadsheet processes
- Supervise and support a part-time Accountant
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- Previous Controller or senior accounting leadership experience
- SaaS or technology industry experience strongly preferred
- Private equity-backed company experience highly desired
- Strong financial reporting, close process, and operational accounting background
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks Online or similar platforms
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a hands-on, high-accountability environment
