POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for assisting the physician and office nurse in answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, receiving patients and completing the patient encounter as per office specifications.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: H i g h Sc h o o l Diploma and Medi c al A s s i st a nt Certificate from ac c redi t ed i n s t i t u tion. Must be computer literate w i th previous p h y s i c ia n office practi c e e x perie n c e . R e qu i r es atte nti o n to d e tai l , good customer service ski l l s and a b ili t y t o adapt to changing n e e ds of d e partment. Minimum of thr e e (3) yea r phy s i c ia n office medical assistant exp e r ience p r ef e r r e d.

PHYSICAL I MENTAL DEMANDS:

Ability t o think and work effectiv e ly y under stress w ith f r e q u e nt in t e rrup t io n s; to mov e , s i t , stan d , walk a nd bend intermit t e n tly y t h r o u gh o ut the work da y , lift and/or move up to 50 l b s.

Must p os s ess s i g h t and h e a ri n g s e nses o r use prosthetics that w i ll enable these s o urc e s to fu n c t i o n adequately y so that the requiremen t s of th i s position c an b e fully m et.
