Location: Washington, DC Job Type: Full-Time - Entry Level Schedule: Monday-Friday Pay: $21-$24 per hour

Our staffing company in Washington, DC is seeking a motivated HR Coordinator / Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is a dual-function, entry-level role ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to build a career in human resources and office administration. This position supports both day-to-day HR functions and general administrative operations for the office.

Responsibilities

HR Coordination:

- Assist with recruiting efforts, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews

- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork, orientation, and system setup

- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR files

- Assist with employee verifications, background checks, and compliance documentation

- Help coordinate employee benefits enrollment and answer basic benefits questions

- Support HR team with various projects and initiatives as needed

Administrative Support:

- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and general office inquiries

- Greet visitors and candidates in a professional and welcoming manner

- Manage office correspondence, filing, and data entry

- Order and maintain office supplies and equipment

- Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and interviews

- Prepare and organize documents, reports, and spreadsheets

- Provide general administrative support to management and staff as needed

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

- Prior experience in an office, HR, or administrative setting is a plus, but not required

- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

- Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude
