About Upshop

Upshop is the market leader in Total Store Operations solutions for grocery and convenience retail. Our AI-powered SaaS platform connects Fresh, Center, eCommerce, and DSD operations to create a simpler, smarter, and more connected store experience. More than 450 retail chains trust Upshop across 50,000+ stores in 35 countries.

The Opportunity

Upshop is looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst to strengthen a fast-moving Finance function. This is a hands-on role for someone who builds financial models well, understands SaaS economics, and uses AI and automation to make Finance faster and more accurate.

Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, you'll partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and G&A to turn data into clear, decision-ready analysis. You'll own your models and analyses end to end and bring a point of view — not just a number — when you present to Finance leadership.

Responsibilities

- Execute the core monthly FP&A cycle: financial reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, and management reporting.

- Build and maintain driver-based models for ARR, revenue, headcount, opex, EBITDA, and cash flow, working from source data rather than static templates.

- Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses that quantify the impact of changes in growth, sales productivity, retention, hiring, spend, and other key business drivers.

- Analyze core SaaS and GTM metrics — ARR, bookings, pipeline, sales capacity/productivity, churn, retention, expansion, gross margin, CAC, Rule of 40, pipeline coverage, win rate, sales cycle length, and quota attainment — and flag what's moving and why.

- Partner with functional leaders to validate assumptions, surface risks and opportunities, and track performance against plan.

- Support the annual operating plan, monthly reforecast, and ad hoc business cases.

- Produce concise, executive-ready presentations, dashboards, memos, and analysis for leadership, QBRs, and Board-related materials.

- Build and maintain AI-enabled workflows like rolling forecast updates and forecast-vs-actual variance analysis, with appropriate review and data-security controls.

- Identify and implement process and template improvements that make Finance faster and more scalable.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

- 4–6 years in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or a similarly analytical role.

- Demonstrated ability to build driver-based financial models from source data — not just update existing templates.

- Working knowledge of SaaS and GTM metrics: ARR, bookings, recurring revenue, retention, churn, expansion, gross margin, sales productivity, pipeline, and cash flow.

- Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) to speed up analysis, documentation, or reporting — be ready to show a real example.

- Advanced Excel: complex formulas, pivots, lookups, data validation, and model design.

- Strong PowerPoint and written communication skills — able to build concise, executive-ready materials.

- Comfortable working with large or messy datasets and turning them into a clear takeaway.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with [insert Upshop's actual planning/BI stack, e.g., NetSuite and Adaptive Planning]; SQL or Python a plus for larger datasets.

- SaaS, technology, or private-equity-backed operating environment experience.

- Progress toward CPA or CFA.

- Retail, grocery, convenience, or multi-location operations experience — a plus, not required.

Why Upshop

- Direct exposure to senior Finance leaders and real business decisions.

- Help build modern FP&A capability — driver-based planning, scenario modeling, AI-enabled workflows.

- Broad exposure across a global, growing SaaS business.

- Collaborative, entrepreneurial team that values ownership and rigor.

- Competitive compensation, flexible work arrangements, and real growth path.
