Underground Laborer

Join our team and play a key role in the installation and maintenance of underground OSP telecommunications infrastructure. As an Underground Laborer , you’ll work alongside skilled operators and foremen to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality construction of underground cable systems.

Responsibilities:

- Load, transport, and unload materials to and from job sites
- Set up and maintain safe, compliant work zones following all safety regulations and guidelines
- Prepare work areas by shoveling dirt, digging holes and trenches, and assisting operators with conduit installation
- Perform spot digging to safely expose existing utilities
- Feed cable from large reels into conduit
- Ensure proper placement of marker tape when laying cable
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris
- Assist the Foreman and crew with daily job-site activities as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

- Previous experience in underground construction preferred
- Familiarity with underground construction tools and equipment preferred
- CDL preferred
- Knowledge of Ditch Witch, Vermeer, Mini Excavators, and similar underground construction equipment is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- Valid driver’s license required
