About this role

The Director of Programming and Documentation is responsible for managing and directing the activities of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and facility policy, goals, and objectives. This position contributes to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and quality improvement efforts, while providing guidance to the RN, MHT, Providers, and Program Therapists. The Director of Programming and Documentation is responsible for directing the activities of the Health Information Management Services Department in the management and maintenance of all patient medical records information, ensuring compliance will all state and federal laws, rules/regulations of licensing agencies and within The Joint Commission and CMS standards for the quality of patient care.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree specializing in social work or a clinical related mental health area, or health information management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years leadership experience in information management is required, with direct experience in a health care psychiatric facility preferred. Three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and CPI training within 60 days of employment.  Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission /CMS, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements.

Licensure: Certification accreditation as a registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or  Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), as determined by the American Health  Information Management Association (AHIMA).
