About this role
This part-time position (17.5 hours/week) until 30th September 2029 within the College of Medicine and Health, School of Medical Sciences, Department of Cardiovascular Sciences and will be supporting the research of Julie Rayes and Alex Slater.
This post is funded by the Rosetrees Trust with the aims of developing new therapies combatting sepsis. Here we will produce and characterise inhibitors of calprotectin. We will use its three major receptors, CD36, RAGE and TLR4, as templates to develop truncated proteins and peptide inhibitors. These will be characterised for their ability to bind calprotectin and inhibit the procoagulant and inflammatory responses.
