About this role
What you will do:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend APIs and platform services
- Develop backend systems using Node.js, Express.js, and PostgreSQL
- Integrate with banking, payment, and financial APIs
- Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams on new platform capabilities
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions
- Ensure backend reliability, performance, and scalability
- Support the development of fintech and SaaS product features for international markets
- Work closely with overseas stakeholders and distributed engineering teams
What you will need:
- Strong backend engineering experience with modern JavaScript ecosystems
- 3-5+ years of software engineering experience
- Deep experience with and understanding of:
- JavaScript
- Node.js (http://node.js/)
- Express.js (http://express.js/) framework
- APIs
- Databases (PostgreSQL)
- Architecture
- Fintech web applications
- Good understanding of API design and backend system integration
- Comfortable working in fast-paced startup or product-driven environments
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Fluent English communication skills are essential
- Ability to work flexible hours to collaborate with US-based teams
- Candidates should already be based in Taipei
