About this role

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description The Pharmacy Technician role encompasses various responsibilities within areas such as Formulary Management, Pharmacy Audit and Recovery, Pharmacy Service Center, Medicare Part D/Part B, Appeals, Medicare Part D Operations, State Health Programs Pharmacy Operations, and Prior Authorization. The technician will review requests for prescription drugs and pharmacy benefits, resolve issues, and consult with Clinical Pharmacists or the Regional Medical Director as needed. Responsibilities

- Formulary Management: Review and process formulary change requests and maintain formulary status grids.
- Pharmacy Audit and Recovery: Conduct audits on paid claims and communicate discrepancies with pharmacies.
- Pharmacy Services Center: Address member inquiries regarding benefits and prior authorizations.
- Prior Authorization: Review requests for non-formulary drugs and manage prior authorization documentation.
- Medicare Part D Operations: Process PDE files, assist in claims corrections, and perform audits.
- State Health Programs Pharmacy Operations: Serve as a liaison for operational issues and maintain database files.
- Oversight and Audit Support: Implement regulatory changes and assist in audit preparation.
- Appeals: Identify the validity of appeals and verify necessary information.
- Prior Authorization Medicare Part D and Part B: Manage coverage determination and authorization requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.

Essential Skills

- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience
- Customer Service/Retail experience preferred
- Valid Pharmacy Technician License preferred

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
