Job Title: Pharmacy Technician We are seeking Pharmacy Technicians to join our Appeals department. This position primarily involves medical authorizations, with a focus on injectable medications administered in doctors' offices. It is not centered on traditional prescription authorizations. The role requires data entry and involves some outbound phone work to communicate with doctors or members. The technician will review rejected Prior Authorizations that have gone to appeal, possibly contacting doctor's offices and members for additional information. They will also handle some inbound calls from these parties. Responsibilities
- Review rejected Prior Authorizations that have gone to appeal.
- Conduct data entry and handle outbound phone communications with doctors and members.
- Use CPS Compass and UMV systems, as well as the Express Scripts platform.
- Access the department’s inbound fax queue and process appeals or reimbursement requests.
- Review Pharmacy Appeals or Reimbursement cases against plan criteria.
- Make outreach to provider’s offices and members for additional information needed for case reviews.
Essential Skills
- Customer service skills.
- Experience with prior authorization and insurance processes.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Quality auditing and intake experience.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician License.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in retail, payor, or hospital settings.
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt and work independently.
- Experience in managed care or prior authorization is a plus.
- National certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Detail-oriented and accustomed to tight deadlines.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
