About this role

Position Summary -Sprays surfaces of trucks, buses, vans or other vehicles a assigned with protective or decorative material, such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer, using spray gun.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Review repair estimates for painting instructions and create plan to perform work.

Provide proper tools and tool storage for performing assigned tasks.

Disassemble and re-assemble of truck parts and accessories for access to painted surfaces.

Sand, prime and prep painted surfaces for painting.

Operating air operated sanding and grinding equipment

Perform all taping and masking in a professional manner to insure a quality and acceptable finished product.

Ability to identify that surfaces are paint ready before applying paint products

Proper training for applying paint products and knowledge of paint mixing procedures.

Operating pressurized spray equipment

Familiar with safety equipment for painting, respirators, body protection ect.

Ability to provide a quality and acceptable paint finish for all paint assignments

Other duties as assigned

Education

One year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school

and

Experience

Minimum of two years related experience and/or training

An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable

Specific Experience

Automotive/truck body painting

Paint mixing

Knowledge of respirator systems
