Mechanical Prototype Testing Engineer (6‑Month Contract)
Location: Englewood, CO (On‑site) Pay Range: $35–60/hour Role Overview This contract role supports the development of motorcycle, scooter, and powersports belt‑drive systems. You’ll manage prototype procurement, supplier coordination, inspection, testing support, and FAI activities while working closely with design engineering and purchasing teams. This position blends hands‑on mechanical testing with project coordination and offers visibility across design, quality, testing, and supplier functions. Key Responsibilities
- Prototype procurement including RFQs, supplier communication, and sample tracking
- Testing coordination for DVP, validation, and troubleshooting
- FAI ownership and documentation
- Mechanical inspection using metrology and measurement equipment
- Engineering reporting, database maintenance, and data tracking
- Cross‑functional collaboration with design engineering, purchasing, and suppliers
- Ensuring prototype and testing deliverables meet project timelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 2–5+ years experience in test, validation, quality, or prototype engineering
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on lab/testing experience
- Excellent communication, organization, and supplier‑facing skills
- Project management and coordination
- Mechanical prototype testing, DVP execution, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Inspection, metrology, and measurement equipment proficiency
- Drawing interpretation and CAD literacy
- FAI ownership
- Supplier communication, RFQs, database and sample tracking
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- CMM or laser scanning experience
- Measurement Systems Analysis
- Quality tools and methodologies
- Rotating equipment, automotive, motorcycle, or powersports experience

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Denver, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
