Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician

Join a growing team supporting commercial construction projects throughout the Fort Worth area. This hands-on field role focuses on soil and concrete testing, equipment operation, and accurate reporting to help ensure project quality and compliance.
### Qualifications
3+ years of construction materials testing, inspection, or related field experience. Experience with soil density, compaction, and concrete testing. Familiarity with nuclear density gauges (Troxler or similar). Strong attention to detail, documentation, and basic math skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying job site conditions. Strong communication skills and willingness to work overtime as needed.
### Key Responsibilities
Perform soil, concrete, density, compaction, and gradation testing. Conduct slump, air content, and pressure testing. Operate and maintain testing equipment. Record and submit accurate field reports and test data. Coordinate with contractors, superintendents, and project teams. Transport, load, and unload testing equipment. Follow all company and site safety procedures.
### Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of ACI and/or NICET standards. Previous CMT experience on commercial construction projects. Interest in obtaining industry certifications and advancing within the field.
### Work Environment
Primarily field-based work on active construction sites throughout the Fort Worth area. Requires lifting and carrying testing equipment, working outdoors, and maintaining flexibility for varying schedules. Typical workweeks range from 40-60 hours, with opportunities for training and career growth.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
