About this role

CNC Specialist   – Sr Princ Machinist

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide technical leadership to less experienced employees.

- Act as a first point of contact   for Machining Associate, Operators, and Level l Machinists as a Section Leader

- Train Machining Associates/Operators in metrology

- Sketching and fabricating fixtures

- Develop or   assist   in the development of new set-ups and programs for new products or process changes including the initiation and completion of process verifications.

- Sharpen cutting tools such as broaches, drills ,   and end mills. Performs preventive maintenance on machinery.

- Set up and   operate   multi-axis CNC and/or manual equipment, tools and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process   component   parts.

- Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates   established   for a particular operation.

- Identify   and   participate   in resolving machining problems   in order to   produce   defect free   parts.

- Performs verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts.

- Performs in-process and first article inspections at the primary metrology skill level.

- Understands/edits multi axis G-code/M-code mill programs, multi axis G-code lathe programs and up to multi axis   Mazatrol   lathe programs as   required .

Work experience requirements:  
A minimum of   10   years’   work experience on a variety of CNC equipment in a machining environment.

Other Attributes:

- Troubleshooting of multi-axis CNC equipment.

- Must be able to   demonstrate   a working knowledge of the use of cutting tools and their use to produce   defect free   parts.

- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions,   demonstrate   the ability to read   blueprints   and interpret geometric tolerances.

- Must be able to   demonstrate   metrology   skill s . Able to produce parts at the   optimum   rates with zero defects.

- Must   demonstrate   the ability to   operate   equipment without causing injury to oneself or damage to equipment, or product.
