Payroll Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll processing, strong knowledge of payroll regulations, and hands-on experience using ADP Vantage .

Key Responsibilities

- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review and validate employee timekeeping records, payroll data, and payroll transactions.
- Utilize ADP Vantage to maintain payroll records and process employee payroll changes.
- Research, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies, timecard exceptions, and employee payroll inquiries.
- Process employee deductions, garnishments, direct deposits, tax updates, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end payroll reporting activities.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure employee data changes are accurately reflected in payroll systems.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive employee and payroll information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Required Qualifications

- Experience processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Vantage is required.
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, deductions, garnishments, and payroll compliance.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 0-5 years of payroll experience.
- Experience working with Workday or similar HRIS/payroll systems.
- Exposure to payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end processing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tinley Park, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
