Job Title: Assistant Project Manager Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Manager to support our team on a significant semiconductor project. This role involves overseeing the electrical scope of work in Boise, ID, and requires a strong background in electrical construction and project management.
Responsibilities
- Manage contracts by understanding scope, change order requirements, pricing structures, performance periods, and closeout obligations.
- Lead pre-job planning, including team coordination, safety reviews, risk analysis, goal setting, and meeting documentation.
- Develop and manage manpower plans and schedules using cost-to-complete analysis and production forecasting; communicate significant changes promptly.
- Establish, review, and control project budgets, job cost tracking, phasing, and cash-flow-positive schedules of values.
- Oversee submittals, O&M documentation, and closeout deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Initiate and manage major purchase orders and subcontracts; approve invoices, track commitments, and prevent overpayments.
- Ensure project production, quality, and safety standards are met through clear communication with field leadership.
- Manage project correspondence, RFIs, and documentation; communicate significant project issues to executive leadership.
- Coordinate billing, collections, retainage, and change order inclusion to support positive cash flow and timely payment.
- Oversee payroll accuracy, labor reporting, and union coordination in compliance with company and contractual requirements.
- Perform ongoing job cost tracking, earned value analysis, and monthly cost-to-complete reporting for performance measurement.
- Lead change order development, pricing, tracking, and analysis against original contract value.
- Support project closeout activities, including retention release, record drawings, and final documentation.
- Participate in estimator coordination meetings, forecasting discussions, and pre-qualification efforts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of experience in a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager position.
- Experience supporting data center/semiconductor projects.
- Working knowledge of electrical construction, typically acquired through completion of a 5-year electrical apprentice program.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Strong project management, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Leadership experience in a field environment.
- Estimator/Project Supervisor experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Combination of field experience and education.
Work Environment
The position is based on-site at the Micron project in Boise, ID, with a 60/60/50 schedule. A company phone or allowance is provided. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. This is a Permanent position based out of Boise, ID.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $105000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Will provide benefit info when candidates are in the interviewing stage.
