Job Title: Hospitality Resident

Reports To:  The Hospitality Resident will report to Executive Director of Engagement

Job Overview: The Hospitality Resident will support Hill City Church’s objectives through the embodiment of the mission statement: Together, we love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ by helping create welcoming, organized, and hospitable environments for both guests and staff. This role supports the consistent execution of internal and external hospitality, including office and staff hospitality, guest experience, Communion, Sunday volunteer teams, events, and ministry spaces. The Hospitality Resident works alongside the Administrative Coordinator to ensure spaces are prepared, guests and staff are cared for, volunteers are supported, and hospitality systems are carried out consistently and with excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Sunday Responsibilities:

- Assist with setup and tear down of gathering area

- Be a welcoming presence for congregation

- Assist HC staff as needed

Internal Staff and Operational Hospitality : 40%

- Maintain assigned spaces to ensure they are clean, organized, well-stocked, and ready for use.

- Assist with purchasing, receiving, organizing, and stocking staff groceries, kitchen supplies, office supplies, and other assigned inventory.

- Support food orders, approved purchases, vendor coordination, room preparation, setup, and cleanup for meetings and events.

- Partner with the Administrative Coordinator to prepare for executive team dinners, meetings, retreats, events, and special projects.

- Collaborate with the Facilities Coordinator and Administrative Coordinator to maintain organized, functional, and welcoming office and ministry spaces.

- Assist with internal facility projects and other operational needs as assigned.

- Collaborate with the Administrative Coordinator to develop and adjust hospitality systems and processes

External Congregation and Sunday Hospitality : 40%

- Monitor Communion and Hospitality inventory and purchase approved supplies as needed to maintain appropriate stock levels.

- Assist with onboarding, communication, and ongoing support of Hospitality and Communion volunteer teams.

- Support Hospitality events in partnership with the Administrative Coordinator.

- Oversee routine West Wing Hospitality operations during assigned gatherings.

- Ensure guests are welcomed, volunteers are supported, and established Hospitality systems and standards are carried out consistently.

- Collaborate with the Hospitality Team to improve guest experience through giving and receiving ongoing feedback.

Resident Development: 20%

- Create and complete personalized development plan

- Participate in weekly team meetings, 1-on-1’s, and scheduled meetings

- Creation of and semi-annual evaluation of 6-month role plans

- Training, organizational development, and processes required of all staff & residents

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years of equivalent experience in hospitality, guest services, volunteer coordination, customer service, event support, ministry support, or a related position.

- Friendly, welcoming, and professional when interacting with guests, volunteers, staff members, and vendors.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Organized and self-directed, with the ability to follow established systems and produce consistent results.

- High attention to detail and willingness to complete routine preparation responsibilities consistently.

The hope for Hill City’s Residency Program is that adults who desire to explore vocational ministry will get the opportunity to do so within the local church. After their time in the Residency Program, residents will be better equipped to serve the Church - whether vocationally or through serving as a high capacity leader. The Residency Program will help each individual better understand what they are called to do and how God has gifted them for ministry. As they are sent out of the Residency Program, residents will have a clear vision of where they are going and will be equipped to be effective leaders in the Church for generations to come.
