BUS AIDE

Job Title: Bus Aide

Reports to: Childcare Center Director

Schedule: Part time, Monday through Friday, 11:00am - 3:00pm

Job Summary:

Assist in managing the ongoing programming in assigned classroom(s) in a professional and confidential manner and in a way which incorporates the developmental/culturally sensitive philosophy of the Center to ensure the highest quality of care, as well as compliance with NAEYC standards, DEEC requirements, and health and safety regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- None

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Assist in implementing a curriculum and maintaining an environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace, as well as interact comfortably with adults.

- Supervise children in play and structured activities.

- Maintain a safe and clean environment for children; performing light housekeeping duties as needed.

- Greet parents daily

- Communicates any out of ordinary information regarding the children to the classroom teacher.

- Perform other duties as requested and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to relate with co-workers and parents in cooperative/positive manner while supporting students with diverse learning needs and promoting respectful interactions.

- Ability to work with families and children of diverse cultural backgrounds

Education and Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum 18 years of age

- Experience working with children

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

- Must be able to bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.

- Run or move quickly to respond to emergency situations
