About this role

The Aircraft Painter Technician
Assistant will report directly to the Production Manager in the Cayman Airways
Express Maintenance Department, with day-to-day supervision by the Production
Supervisors. The postholder’s primary responsibility would be painting and
polishing aircrafts but may be called upon to assist with the painting and
restoration of the company’s Ground Service Equipment as and when necessary.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

§ Perform regular and thorough inspections of
paint work on aircrafts and company vehicles - interior and exterior

§ Operate tools and ground equipment in a safe and
effective manner, always ensuring proper maintenance, cleanliness and servicing
of tools, equipment and facilities at all times

§ Perform abrading and paint stripping as
necessary, using approved equipment, material and procedures

§ Restore the company’s aircraft interior and
exterior paint work to an acceptable company standard, as requested by the
Maintenance Production management

§ Perform appropriate stencilled masking and
outline aircraft body to paint company logo and insignia, letters or numerals
on the aircraft surface and install aircraft external placards and markings
including company-specific decals

§ Must be knowledgeable in the operation of aircraft
paint booth, manometer and temperature/humidity readings and tracking

§ Remove all masking and clean the working area
thoroughly

§ Properly complete Work Orders noting that some
repairs/assignments may require heavy lifting

§ Successfully complete all training as directed
by the company and consistently improve knowledge and techniques in respect of
aircraft and GSE paint restoration

§ Possess appropriate Tool Kit as required for the
position

Requirements

Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:

§ Minimum of a high school diploma

§ Minimum 10 years’
experience as an Aircraft Painter and demonstrate a level of practical
experience with certified work sheets

§ Successful completion of the necessary aviation
painter tradesman training involved in the preparation, painting and marking of
aircraft and aircraft components (Aircraft Painter Certification Scheme (APCS),
SSPC Aerospace Coating Application Specialist Certification (ACAS) or
equivalent course)

§ Successful completion of the necessary
automobile painter tradesman training involved in the preparation, painting and
marking of automobiles

§ Excellent knowledge of the properties of various
paints, finishes, paint removers and chemicals are required

§ Good knowledge of mixing paint pigments to
create desired colours

§ Correctly use,
handle, and dispose of hazardous materials

§ Apply chemical paint stripping solutions and
prepare the aircraft to be painted with cleaning, masking, and sanding

§ Sufficient physical strength and dexterity to
climb on aircraft and manipulate painting equipment

§ Strong hand-eye
coordination and proficiency in using the required tools

§ Experience working at high heights

§ Basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and
Excel software

§ Be prepared to work
on a shift system, nights and weekends included
