Technical Writer III

What You'll Do
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including: Operations manuals
- Maintenance manuals
- Technical procedures
- Test plans
- Training materials
- Technical supplements and guides
- Partner with engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts to gather and organize technical information.
- Develop documentation using engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and CAD models.
- Lead document review meetings and incorporate stakeholder feedback into document revisions.
- Ensure all documentation meets customer requirements, quality standards, and intended audience needs.
- Develop and maintain documentation templates, formatting standards, and supporting graphics resources.
- Support technical data deliverables, compliance documentation, and proposal-related content as needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, English, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of professional technical writing experience.
- Strong knowledge of technical writing principles, standards, and best practices.
- Advanced experience with: Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Adobe publishing and documentation tools
- Experience creating technical documents that include graphics, tables, illustrations, and embedded content.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and development teams.
- Strong written, verbal, editing, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with S1000D and XML-based documentation systems.
- Adobe FrameMaker experience.
- Experience developing technical documents with limited guidance from subject matter experts.
- Knowledge of document control, content verification, and configuration management practices.
- Experience supporting Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables.
- Familiarity with technical manuals, operations documentation, training content, test procedures, and process guides.
- Previous experience supporting aerospace, defense, aviation, manufacturing, or other highly technical industries.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks, NV.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
