Job Description:

The primary responsibility of the Dietary Director/Executive Chef to plan, coordinate and manage the Dietary department and to facilitate an extraordinary culinary experience for our patients while adhering to their dietary needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining and management of all dietary staff

- Manages inventory, the purchasing of food, supplies and uniforms for the kitchen

- Plans and prepares daily menus, along with customized meal plans to fulfill dietary needs of patients

- Interacts with patients, family members, Registered Dietician, departmental Directors and staff on a daily basis

- Manages the dietary department and staffing within the budget

- Maintains a clean, safe and effective work environment

- Works and assists in the kitchen as needed

- Handles complaints/issues in a timely manner

- Performs administrative duties as required by the position

- Monitor the facilitys survey reports and assist in developing plans of action to correct potential or identified problem areas

- Maintains federal, state and local Department of Health regulations at all times regarding sanitation and safety in all areas of food service operation

- Works closely with the Registered Dietician as well as departmental Directors

- Prepares meals for company meetings and events

- Follows company policies and procedures

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years experience in a culinary leadership position in skilled nursing facility (preferred)

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to have difficult conversations while maintaining compassion

- Must be self-motivated and have excellent follow-through

- Have the ability to multi task and keep a calm demeanor even in chaotic situations

- Must be able to maintain confidential information

- Be a champion of positivity and high morale

- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
