Position Summary:
Waste Connections is looking for a safety-conscious Driver Helper to join our team. This role involves assisting the driver with residential and/or commercial route collections while ensuring excellent customer service and efficient operations.
Job Duties:
- Ride on the back of the truck and assist the driver on collection routes
- Collect and dump residential and/or commercial waste and recyclables
- Safely load and unload materials into the truck
- Navigate routes and assist with directions as needed
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure safe operations at all times
- Provide courteous and professional service to customers
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and ride on the back of the truck for extended periods
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Team-oriented mindset
Schedule:
- Early morning start times (typically 5:00 AM–6:00 AM)
- Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed
