About this role
Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP), a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for girls in grades 6 - 12 located in Towson, Maryland, seeks a full-time long-term substitute in our Theology Department for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This position will involve teaching sections of Catholic Justice & Morality (12 th Grade) and The Church & World Religions (11 th Grade) .
Grounded in Catholic teaching and inspired by the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we expect our employees to foster a culture in which students are encouraged to explore their passions, deepen their faith, and build lasting bonds of sisterhood.
Dates for the position are approximately September 18 th to December 18 th (end date subject to change).
Responsibilities:
- Teach Catholic Justice & Morality and The Church & World Religions to Upper Level, focusing on engaging and effective religious instruction.
- Teach 7 sections that each meet 2 out of 4 days in the schedule rotation.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and other school-wide events.
- Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Religion, Theology, or a related field (required).
- Masters degree preferred.
- Successful classroom experience , particularly with high school students, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Catholic theology and the ability to teach in accordance with the Churchs teachings, including instruction in Scripture , Catholic doctrine , church history , sacraments , and morality tailored to middle school students.
- An active, practicing Catholic with a passion for teaching and inspiring young students.
- A commitment to educating young women in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame, embracing the spirit of the Second Vatican Council , and fostering prayer and social justice .
Long-term substitute rate is $160 per full-day ($80 for half days).
