Skilled Trades Partners is seeking an experienced Working Shop Foreman / Industrial Mechanic for a full-time opportunity with an established, family-owned industrial service company in Waterbury, CT.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows how to troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild industrial rotating equipment while helping oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy repair shop. This is not a desk-only foreman role — we’re looking for someone who can lead by example and work alongside the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead and work alongside shop mechanics and technicians
- Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and rebuild industrial electric motors
- Repair pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures
- Perform precision fits, alignments, and equipment repairs
- Operate manual machining equipment, including a lathe
- Assist with balancing, testing, and complex troubleshooting
- Help coordinate shop workflow and maintain high standards for quality and safety

What We’re Looking For

- 5+ years of industrial mechanical, motor repair, millwright, or similar experience preferred
- Strong hands-on experience repairing electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, or rotating equipment
- Manual lathe experience required
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience leading or mentoring other mechanics/technicians
- Comfortable working with heavy industrial equipment
- Welding, fabrication, machining, or motor rewinding experience is a plus
- No electrical license required
