Role and Responsibilities
- Manages and monitors organizations general ledger.
- Oversees all contracts and grants through the Agency, including the GAAP treatment of those contracts and grants both state and federal.
- Compiles and posts all monthly journal entries to facilitate the month-end close.
- Review and prepare monthly financial statements.
- Conducts account analysis and reconciles balance sheet accounts at month-end.
- Deliver and report out financial information to other departments.
- Maintain weekly cash flow report.
- Serves as backup to AP/Payroll Specialist
- Assist with the submission of monthly billing invoices and collecting supporting data.
- Assists in the collection and the preparation of audit data, budgeting, and related data entry into the accounting software.
- Assist the CFO in preparing, reviewing, and distributing monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial reports for grants.
- Other general accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must be able to successfully pass background checks and drug screen.
- Minimum associate degree in accounting or a related field, bachelors preferred.
- Minimum one year of accounting related experience preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel
- Strong analytical skills are needed to post figures to ledgers and documents, reconcile balance amounts, and resolve miscalculations.
