Job Title: Lab Operations Manager Job Description
The Lab Operations Manager will provide hands-on clinical support while coordinating the daily operations of an outpatient IV therapy and laboratory area. This role involves patient care, phlebotomy, specimen management, IV therapy support, clinical documentation, inventory control, patient education, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for scheduled services, obtain and document vital information, and verify required consents and treatment documentation.
- Observe patients for changes in condition and administer provider-ordered IV hydration, nutrients, vitamins, medications, and injections, as permitted by credentials and supervision.
- Perform venipuncture, specimen identification, processing, storage, packaging, shipment, and requisition preparation.
- Maintain temperature logs and coordinate with receiving laboratories.
- Organize incoming reports for provider review and support follow-up activities under established clinical protocols.
- Maintain appropriate supply levels, monitor expiration dates and lot numbers, and organize clinical storage.
- Review upcoming schedules, prepare required supplies and paperwork, and keep patient-care areas clean and compliant with infection-control standards.
- Train and guide qualified support staff, delegate routine duties, verify task completion, and escalate clinical, operational, or safety concerns.
Essential Skills
- Experience performing IV placement and IV therapy support.
- Proficient in phlebotomy and venipuncture, including accurate patient and specimen identification.
- Experience processing, labeling, centrifuging, separating, refrigerating, freezing, packaging, and routing laboratory specimens.
- Working knowledge of aseptic technique, Standard Precautions, sharps safety, infection control, and bloodborne-pathogen procedures.
- Ability to maintain accurate, same-day EMR documentation for treatments, medications, patient education, clinical observations, and patient responses.
- Experience monitoring clinical inventory, expiration dates, lot numbers, par levels, refrigerator/freezer temperatures, and emergency supplies.
- Ability to recognize changes in a patient’s condition and escalate concerns to the supervising licensed provider.
- Appropriate active healthcare license, certification, or credentials required for the clinical duties assigned to the role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in functional or integrative medicine.
- Exposure to hormone therapy, peptide therapy, wellness, or medical weight-management programs.
- Familiarity with specialty laboratory testing and compounded-medication workflows.
- Experience supporting aesthetic or wellness services.
- Team leadership, training, task delegation, and workflow coordination experience.
- Current CPR/BLS certification, if not already required for the assigned clinical responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite in a medical lab. The work environment involves frequent contact with patients, providers, clinical personnel, administrative staff, laboratories, and pharmacies. The role is hands-on, patient-facing, detail-oriented, and fast-paced, requiring the balancing of scheduled treatments, specimen workflows, documentation, inventory, and team coordination.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilton Manors, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
